Mutual Ministry Discernment Process

Invitation

Responding to the Bishop’s request for us to enter into a year of discernment about our identity as a community and congregation, Holy Innocents has designed a curriculum and a process of small groups to lead our work. Look for announcements and information throughout the year containing invitations, updates, and surveys to help us do this important work.

Several Small Groups have formed. Please take a look at the composition and meeting times of the groups listed below. If there’s a group you’d like to join, please contact the convener listed. We’d like everyone to join a small group, if possible. All are invited.

What are the expectations of small groups?

We ask that each group commit to the following:

1) Meet once a month

2) Use the curriculum provided as a starting point for conversation

3) Faithfully pray for each member of your small group, and for the work of Mutual Ministry Discernment this year

4) Attend quarterly large-group meetings (March, June, September, January) following the combined services at the end of those months

5) Share the observations, conclusions, and challenges that arise in your small groups with the Mutual Ministry Discernment Committee members
